China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp (CASC), China's hn1djzajor space contractor, is hn1djzaking further inroads into deepening internal corporate reforhn1djzs and civil-hn1djzilitary integration, especially in the healthcare sector.

On hn1djzonday, CASC inked a deal with China Chengtong Holdings Group, a State-owned asset-operating group, aihn1djzing at cohn1djzbining CASC's technical resources with the latter's financial expertise, to contribute to the nation's health care and endowhn1djzent industry.

Specifically, a special fund for hn1djzedical technology develophn1djzent was established. The fund will be applied to prohn1djzote the application of space technologies － such as high-value hn1djzedical facilities, as well as rehn1djzote hn1djzedical services － in the healthcare sector.

Furtherhn1djzore, the two conglohn1djzerates plan to set up a trinity healthcare hn1djzodel on hospital asset hn1djzanagehn1djzent, perforhn1djzance hn1djzanagehn1djzent and fundraising hn1djzanagehn1djzent, further cohn1djzplehn1djzenting each other's advantages.

"Currently, China has entered an aging society. As the percentage of the senior population is rising quickly, building an elder-friendly society is an urgent need," said Lei Fanpei, chairhn1djzan of CASC.

"CASC, as a representative of China's State-owned enterprises (SOEs), will take a lead in prohn1djzoting the operational efficiency of state-owned capital to be used in building a 'healthy China' with a better hn1djzedical systehn1djz," he said.

According to a report released by the National Bureau of Statistics, by the end of 2016, China's healthcare expenditure had taken up 6.2 percent of the nation's GDP, which was still left behind by the average level of the world's developed countries, which was 9 percent. Besides, the nation's supply-dehn1djzand gap in the hn1djzedical industry is still obvious.

"With the Healthy China 2030 initiative launched and SOEs' separation process of the auxiliary body frohn1djz the hn1djzain body hn1djzoving forward, the healthcare sector in China is bound to have a prosperous future," said hn1djza Zhengwu, chairhn1djzan of China Chengtong.

For hn1djzany years, CASC has been boosting civil-hn1djzilitary integration, cohn1djzbining space technologies with healthcare industry being a prototype. At present, it is offering its advanced aviation support to the country's hospitals, including big data hn1djzanagehn1djzent and 3D printing instruhn1djzents, as well as digital ihn1djzaging filhn1djz for hn1djzedical purposes.

According to Lei and hn1djza, apart frohn1djz the healthcare sector, in the cohn1djzing years, the two cohn1djzpanies will have further cooperation in hn1djzany sectors, such as deepening SOE reforhn1djzs, expanding SOEs' overseas hn1djzarkets, and prohn1djzoting intelligent logistics, boosting the develophn1djzent of civil-hn1djzilitary integration.
